The William Vale is the new kid on the block in Williamsburg, New York’s hippest ‘hood. But this is no ordinary kid. The futuristic Albo Liberis-designed architectural landmark towers over its neighbours; its reward is panoramic who’s-who views of Manhattan’s most iconic skyscrapers. Each of the sleekly-styled rooms has its own private terrace, as well as monochrome modern-luxe furniture and colour-pops of local artwork. Andrew Carmellini’s open kitchen cooks up wood-fired pizza and serves it in southern Italian restaurant Leuca, or by the 60ft-long pool. The cherry on top is Westlight – an indoor-outdoor destination cocktail bar serving small plates of global street food with the best views in Brooklyn on the side.
