One Bedford
When Greenpoint’s popular Nights and Weekends closed its doors in late 2016, the plan wasn’t for the lights to be off very long. And it took a few months for the owner to open its successor: One Bedford, the all-day café in the same space. Like its predecessor, One Bedford is more of a bar supplemented by a kitchen, as opposed to a proper restaurant. Come for the coffee and pastries in the morning and stay through the evening, but be forewarned: The cocktail list outshines the menu of unremarkable bistro fare. Skip the disappointing flatbread pizzas and stick with one of the burgers (they come with excellent crispy shoestring fries,) which act as a saving grace to an otherwise mediocre meal. — Caroline Strumph
