The spacious indoors, complete with tables made of repurposed roof beams, huge flatscreens, and a DJ booth, is decent enough for watching Champions League soccer or downing a few Radebergers. But the raison d’etre for this Williamsburg beer hall is the 3,000 sq. ft. roof. Climb one of the two staircases to the deck, with its no frills concrete floor, umbrella-ed tables, beer-only bar, and heating in cooler months, and enjoy the unobstructed view of the Manhattan skyline, not to mention the gorgeous sunsets behind it. As beers go, the list is 90% German, with a nice Belgian amber and Irish stout thrown in. Weekends lean heavily fratty, so come on a warm weeknight to relax among the half-finished condos. — Melissa Lafsky
