Aldea

In May 2009, Chef George Mendes opened Aldea in Manhattan’s Flatiron neighborhood. Named after the Spanish word for village, the restaurant’s menu is inspired by the Iberian Peninsula and Mendes’ heritage. The chef adds a modern, seasonal approach to create a menu perfectly balanced between rusticity and refinement. George Mendes and Laurent Gras Special Dinner Series: George Mendez welcomes back visionary chef Laurent Gras to Aldea as they collaborate on an exclusive dinner series this October. For a limited time, Aldea will open it's doors on Mon nights, to offer diners a dynamic, 11-course tasting menu, inspired by the layout of a Kaiseki meal. The dinners will take place in the area surrounding Aldea's open kitchen, as if you were a guest in the chef's home. Tickets are $185 per person (before tax/gratuity). This series starts on October 9th and will take place on Mon nights through October 30th.
