Spritzenhaus 33

Nothing grabs a Brooklynite’s attention better than a beer garden with 6,000 square feet of airy space, a hundred flowing tap lines, and homemade bratwurst from an open kitchen. Resting on the upper edge of McCarren Park, the massive Spritzenhaus beckons day-trippers and neighbors alike with its spacious 110-ft bar, long communal benches, and seasonal sidewalk seating. The 25-deep tap list centers on German drafts and domestic craft brews, all of which can be found pouring from four different stations. That’s a lot of beer, but Bavarian pretzels and sausages soak it up admirably. Park proximity and open windows make for ideal summer drinking, but when the weather’s less than hospitable, thirsty visitors can sit by the brick fireplace and ponder deep thoughts, like which beer to get next.
