Jefferson Market Library and Garden

This beautiful, well-kept garden is tucked away in the shadow of the Jefferson Market Library (formerly a courthouse that was once voted the fifth most-beautiful building in the world). Before becoming a garden, the site was home to a food market, a volunteer firehouse and a women's prison. Today it's run by a dedicated group of volunteers who carefully select the flowers for each season and keep the space pristine. Plan ahead to make sure it'll be open—it's worth the trip!
